PRESENTATION TOPIC:Developing & Delivering Sustainable Events


A scientist by profession, Melinda has been involved in the evolution and application of EarthCheck’s benchmarking indicators and standards for more than a decade. Her current role of Vice President, Relationship Management sees her responsible for the day-to-day world-wide operational management of the EarthCheck programme. She was a board member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) for 2 years as well as a continuing member of the International Standards working group which sees her working closely with other sustainability leaders internationally.

A major part of Melinda’s role involves liaising with the EarthCheck Research Institute’s global base of universities. In this capacity Melinda ensures EarthCheck’s science leverages the most credible, relevant and timely research findings. Melinda also oversees a passionate team of Relationship Managers who help members to implement world best practice solutions in sustainable operations and design. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Newcastle.
