Head of Product at Hello NIMBO, Innovations Director of ACES Group & Communications Director for Dynamic Crowd Measurement

PRESENTATION TOPIC: How Robotics and AI is set to transform the events and security landscape; An introduction to Nimbo, SCALE and DCM

CONFERENCE TRACK: Tech Talks

Ben Kulmar is a key driver in the vision to empower the security industry with robotics and Artificial Intelligence and has been heavily involved in the development and delivery of intelligent management and analytics systems to streamline business processes. This has included the introduction of automated real-time tracking systems to monitor critical business processes and compliance.

More recently, Ben has introduced the first AI security robot to Australia called Nimbo, and as Head of Product for Hello Nimbo, leads the Australian product direction in partnership with ACES Group and Turing Video from Silicon Valley.

Whilst working as Communications Director for Dynamic Crowd Measurement, Ben assisted with the development of a web application to measure crowd characteristics that has now evolved into fully autonomous software that utilises Convolution Neural Networks to measure various characteristics for informed decision making on crowds.

Session Overview

This talk will investigate the current landscape of robotics and Artificial Intelligence in relation to events and security, exploring specific platforms that leverage data to transform experience, create efficiency, increase safety and drive growth.

You’ll learn about the importance of embracing the AI and robotics mindset and the capability, benefits and opportunities that the latest tech innovations can provide.

Specifically, an introduction will be provided to three of the latest innovations, Nimbo – the AI powered security robot; SCALE – AI software for terrorism risk and Dynamic Crowd Measurement – AI software for informed decision making on crowds.

Three key takeaways from Ben’s presentation

  • Why embracing the new robotics and AI mindset is important for driving growth and maintaining a competitive position.
  • The capabilities, benefits and opportunities that robotics and AI present, with specific examples from three new innovative products;
    • Nimbo – the AI powered security robot
    • SCALE – AI software for terrorism risk
    • Dynamic Crowd Measurement – AI software for informed decision making on crowds
  • How to implement Human and AI/robotics centred strategies to maximise success.
